everybody in Norway

would like to change

with me

right now

Me last weekend:

Most Norwegians

are longing for spring

and sun

And I

am longing for

snow...

Will have a glass of red with hubby tonight

Maybe 6 years abroad

is coming to an end

Or maybe not.

Mumbo Island part 2

The tents are hidden in the bush

They have fitted roof

My 4 boys where snorkelling

nearly all the time

I was told

a few days before we came

that crocodiles have been spotted

on the island

Baby crocodiles only

but still!

So -

I was guarding 24/7

I do NOT like crocodiles

Not even baby crocs!

When boys where not snorkelling

they where in the canoe

They learned very quick

Much better to be in a canoe

than snorkelling among the crocodiles

I say!

Oldest son and granddad

in a twin canoe

They all canoed around the island

Our shower was a bucket

If we wanted warm water

the staff would come and fill the bucket

Weather was warm

we all showered in cold water

Snorkeling among the siklides

"Somewhere over the rainbow

Skies are blue,

And the dreams that you dare to dream

Really do come true".

Parent/teacher/student conferance

Off we go - in the rain

Of course we go by car

but from the car to the different classrooms...

We are proud parents!

All teachers very happy with

all three boys

Middle son soaking wet

Not a dry spot to find on his clothes

He played football while waited for us

talking with youngest son teachers...

Do not like

That's how it is

in our Africa today!

Preparing for dinner guests -

 - is not always easy in Malawi

when we wake up to

NO water in the taps

And then

Powercut

at 10 am

until

LET'S GET STAAAAARTEEEEEEEED

Power is back!!!

And

WATER!!!

Thank God

I have a housekeeper

who can bake

And COOK!!!

And even if we only had two hours

before guest's arrived

Don't you think husband looks relaxed

at our terrace?

He even made a bonfire

with good help

from youngest boys

And guest's was very happy

Verdens hyggeligste Line fra Tønsberg

 var på jobb i Lilongwe sammen med to av sine kollegaer

Line og jeg hadde hele lørdagen for oss selv

hvor vi shoppet, kikket i butikker og shoppet mer

skravlet, skravlet, skravlet - non stop

cafe, salongpleie, snartur hjem til oss hvor vi

bare fortsatte å skravle -

SÅ HYGGELIG!!!

Line føyk rundt og tok bilder og

hjalp til med borddekking

mens jeg lagde mat.

Vi skulle ha middag hos oss på kvelden

med kollegaene til Line og

ett vennepar av oss

TUSEN TAKK

for besøket -

jeg gleder meg til sommeren

når vi kan fortsette å

skravle

For det ble vi visst

aldri

ferdig med!

Mumbo Island part 1

 

Waiting for the ferry to take us to the deserted Mumbo Island

All three boys with granddad in the boat

Oldest son admires the view

(while I admire him:-)

Me and my hubby

The waves lull some of us to sleep

And soon we will reach Mumbo Island
